Park County Library will spend the month of July finishing up summer reading. This year’s summer reading theme is Adventure Begins at your Library and is open to all ages. It is never too late to sign up and join in on the fun. Participants can sign up at all three libraries and reading can be tracked online or with paper forms. Summer Reading ends in Powell on July 19.

The Powell Library is open for business. If you have not visited us yet, make sure and come see us in our new location at Homesteader Hall in the Park County Fairgrounds.

The Powell Library is super excited to welcome Powell native and political journalist Charlie Spiering at 6 p.m. on July 9 in the Heart Mountain meeting room to discuss his book, “Amateur Hour: Kamala Harris in the White House,” as well as Washington politics. Spiering has worked for the Washington Post, Washington Examiner, Breitbart News and as a White House correspondent covering the Obama Administration. He has also worked as a guest columnist for Cowboy State Daily and currently works for the Daily Mail. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

The Park County Library Foundation is raising funds to help purchase furniture, shelving and technology for the new Powell Library.

The Park County Library is pleased to announce that on Monday, July 15, we will be launching Tonies for checkout. Join the Powell Library at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, beneath the grandstands at the fairgrounds as we welcome John Miller from Pearl Observatory. Learn about dinosaurs with a paleontologist and put together a giant dinosaur puzzle.
