While there wasn’t a contested Powell Valley Hospital Board race this fall, there will be a new face on the board.
Tracy Morris, a longtime Park 1 School District Board member, is replacing Thompson Funeral Home owner Syd Thompson, who did not file for reelection.
Morris was elected to a term alongside incumbents Christopher Cox and Bonita Katz, while incumbent Michele Hill was the sole candidate to finish out the final two years of her term.
Hill ran into an issue after the 2022 election when it was discovered she hadn’t been registered to vote when she won the race. She was then appointed to her seat through 2024, at which point she had to run for the final two years of the term.
