Homesteader Museum will be hosting the 58th annual meeting of the Homesteader Museum Association, Inc. board on Saturday, March 14 at 2 p.m.
This year’s program will be a Readers Theatre entitled “The Whole Dam Family” written by Beryl Churchill, inspired and based on her book, “Challenging the Canyon: A Family Man Builds a Dam.” Performers are Dave Bonner as D.W. Cole, Cecil Alice Johnstone as Carolyn Cole, Peggy Snyder as the three daughters, with Beryl Churchill as the narrator.
The program and a reception follow the Homesteader Museum Association’s short annual meeting. The public is invited to attend.
Members of the Homesteader Museum Association, Inc. are a vital part of the museum’s growth, support of events/exhibits, and needs of the museum.
It is exciting and challenging work to research, record, and preserve Powell’s history for our future generations,” museum Curator Brandi Wright said in a release. “Our homesteading story becomes even more important today as the world changes so quickly around us and as we consider some of the important lessons the pioneers of the area have taught us. Thank you to our members for being a part of telling this important story.”
