Former state Rep. Alan Jones of Powell died early Sunday morning at Powell Valley Hospital.
The former longtime owner of Dick Jones Trucking Co. of Powell was 79.
His nine-and-a-half years of legislative service bridged five terms in the Wyoming House of Representatives. The Republican was first appointed to the position in July 1999, following the death in office of Rep. Denny Smith. Jones was elected four times and retired from office at the end of 2008.
Funeral services are pending at Thompson Funeral Home.
