Linda Thomas isn’t slowing down as she celebrates 30 years in business with Eternal Ice Enterprises, a healing center and location to buy rocks she credits with having helpful energy. In fact, she’s making herself even busier as she finds new ways to spread the word on her belief in healing rocks.
She just released a second book on the subject and will soon be releasing a Spanish language version of her first book, "Crystals and Dragons: A Journey of Discovery."
“There’s a lot more information to be put out there,” she said, noting that she has plans for another three books. “The energy is shifting and growing more powerful, that means the energy we work with in healing is getting more powerful too. And we’re finding new stones that are very powerful in their energy, so this is getting the info out about those stones too.”
Thomas will be signing copies of the new book, "Crystals and Dragons: The Venture Continues: Lessons and Revelations" at her open house from noon-5 p.m. June 3 at Eternal Ice Healing Center at 849 Lane 11 ½. Refreshments will be served and there will be drawings for the new book. Her books can be purchased at Eternal Ice and on Amazon.com, where there are also Kindle versions.
Thoma said while the first book is more of a teaching and informational volume, the second touches on life lessons. She added that most of the stones in the new book are different from those in the first.
“This one actually goes through lessons that we learn throughout our lives,” she said. “It kind of details the lessons I've learned over the past 30 some years, how people can deal with the energy of the stones. It's personal but it's not. Many people are dealing with things going on, things are really shifting energetically and people are wanting help dealing with some things.”
She’s been there to help in the field of crystal healing since 1988, when she became certified as a healer.
“It’s an alternative to regular medicine, it’s holistic, so people have a choice now,” she said. “They can deal with things emotionally or they can go the drug route.”
Thomas said she understands many people don’t buy into her alternative medicine, but she’s all right with that and said people have become much more understanding than in the past. Early on she said she owned a bookstore downtown that was protested due to some of the beliefs and the idea that it was against Christianity to believe in the power of stones. She’s pushed back, she said, and as a member of the Shoshone Rock Club recently gave a presentation about the powerful 12 stones related to the 12 tribes of Israel from the Bible’s Old Testament.
She’s still passionate about offering information and stones to people who are interested in her holistic treatments. She said she tries to carry as many of the stones she mentions in her books in her store for people to purchase at “reasonable prices,” especially stones from other continents that people wouldn’t be able to pick up just hiking in the mountains.
“I love what I do and I love helping people,” she said. “If I can point out things they might learn, they might do that.”
