As part of its larger celebration of International Education Week, the Northwest College Education department is inviting all elementary school students and their families to International Literacy Night on Tuesday, Nov. 19. The free event runs from 6-7:30 p.m. in Hinckley Library on the NWC campus.
Throughout the evening, children in kindergarten through fifth grade along with their families will have the opportunity to meet many of the college’s international students and learn more about their cultures through literacy activities that highlight the heritages they represent. In addition to receiving intercultural books to take home and share, samples of various international foods will also be available to taste.
The event is a collaboration between NWC Education majors and the college’s international students.
For more information on International Literacy Night, contact Jo-El Sauers at joel.sauers@nwc.edu or 307-754-6050.
