Former Powell resident, David Michael Baugh passed away on Nov. 7  at the age of 73 in his home in Star Valley, Arizona.

Known fondly as Mike, he was born in Thermopolis on Aug. 26, 1949, to Willard and Dorothy Baugh. The Baugh family were longtime residents of Powell. Mike played on the high school football and wrestling teams until a coaching position required Willard to move the family to Fullerton, California, but Mike's heart always remained in Big Wonderful Wyoming.

He served four years in the Navy as an Avionics Technician at China Lake, California, where he met his wife of 50 years, Karen.

He had a long career as a warehouseman for Wyeth-Ayerst Pharmaceuticals before Mike and Karen retired and moved to Payson, Arizona, to enjoy plentiful fishing spots, frequenting elk, and the closeness of their family. Mike was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife, Karen; their son James and daughter-in-law Erika; grandchildren Cassaundra, Randi, and David; and his sister, Terre Lee Peterson.

His remains will be kept by his wife until such time when they will rest together on Monument Hill in Thermopolis. Mike's kind, gentle, humorous spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
