The Cody Library will host two nature-focused programs in March as part of its ongoing bird and pollinator education series made possible through a Flight Path grant, part of the Spark of Science @My Library initiative. The grant supports educational opportunities that help communities learn about bird migration, habitat conservation, and ways to support local wildlife.
On Thursday, March 19 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Grizzly Hall, Kendra Morris of Pollen Landscapes will present a program on native landscaping. The session will explore how native plants support birds, pollinators and other wildlife, and will offer practical guidance for incorporating native species into residential yards. Participants will learn how thoughtful landscaping choices can strengthen local ecosystems while promoting water conservation and sustainable gardening practices.
On Tuesday, March 31 from 2-4 p.m. in Grizzly Hall, Olivia Bergeon of the Cody Conservation District will lead a hands-on watercolor butterfly painting program. Bergeon will introduce participants to local butterfly species and discuss the adaptations that help pollinators thrive in northwest Wyoming. Following the educational portion, attendees will create their own butterfly-inspired watercolor paintings. All supplies will be provided.
Both programs are free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Cody Library at 307-527-1880 or visit parkcountylibrary.org.
