A Cody couple was found dead in their home on Thursday from gunshot wounds. Cody police identified the deceased on Friday as 63-year-old Gary Finnicum and his wife, 52-year-old Danielle Finnicum.
In the Friday afternoon statement, police didn’t release any other details about the circumstances of the deaths, but said that, “Based on the evidence gathered thus far, investigators do not believe there is any outstanding threat to the community, nor are they seeking any suspect in connection with this incident at this time.”
Autopsies are scheduled for Monday.
“The investigation remains active as detectives continue to process evidence and await the results of forensic examinations,” the police statement said.
Cody police had responded to the couple’s home in the Valley View Subdivision on the southwestern edge of the city around midday Thursday, after a family friend requested a welfare check; the friend reportedly told police that they hadn’t heard from the Finnicums in multiple days, which was unusual.
When police responded to the residence, they found the couple deceased.
“The Cody Police Department extends its sincere condolences to the Finnicum family and their loved ones during this difficult time,” the department said in Friday’s statement.
