A very long fuse for a July 4 fireworks display in Clark has been lit, as several persons are planning for an event to especially help mark the country's 250th birthday.
Heading a grassroots citizens unit are Debbi Crews and Kristin Knopf.
“We already have been assured that we could hold the display at the Clark Pioneer Recreation Center rodeo grounds,” said Crews, adding that Larry Dodge, president of the Rec Center board, had granted permission.
Crews noted that several other fellow residents are getting on board with suggestions and other help. And several Clarkites have already donated some funding while others have promised prizes for a raffle to help raise fireworks funding.
The “true kickoff for the project” is set for Saturday, April 4 from 2-4 p.m. at the annual community Spring Ding at the Rec Center, Crews said. Raffle tickets will be available at a table, she noted. Other details will be announced later.
