Although there will not be a rodeo, there will be a Clark community celebration this year with the annual Jubilee set for June 13, said Jerry Hill, vice president of the Clark Pioneer Recreation Center Board of Directors.
The board has been seeking volunteers to plan, organize and help stage the festivities, as in the past. However, it seemed that taking charge of the entire program was a bit much, so no one came forward. “But now we are getting volunteers stepping up” for parts of the playbill, Hill noted.
He expressed gratitude for them and excitement about events planned.
“It’s coming together and it’s been great to see,” he said. “Lots of plans are in the works and we will be announcing what’s up.”
So far, Hill is taking the reins for the traditional parade; this year with Belfry American Legion Post 84 in the grand marshal slot.
He stated that Sam Kuntz is organizing a 5K race with Cody Woolard taking charge of staging a car/truck/tractor show and Lizzy Olsen handling a vendor show.
“It’s really nice that folks are willing to take action for the enjoyment of the community,” Hill said, “especially during this year’s 250th birthday of our country.”
