CEO to retire from Cody Regional Health

Doug McMillan, longtime CEO of Cody Regional Health, is retiring later this month. The Cody Regional Health Board of Trustees announced the retirement Monday.

McMillan, who has 40 years of service in health care, joined West Park Hospital, now Cody Regional Health, as CEO in 1997. Throughout his tenure, he has expanded hospital services, enhanced medical staff engagement, and increased financial profitability, according to a release, “all while keeping a patient-centric focus.”

“Working alongside such dedicated and talented colleagues has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I am proud of what we’ve accomplished and look forward to what Cody Regional Health continues to achieve,” McMillan said.

In January, the board will launch a national search for the hospital’s next CEO with the help of longtime management partner Ovation Healthcare, who also recruited the hospital’s chief financial officer.

“While the exact timeline depends on finding the right candidate, these types of searches typically take several months to complete,” hospital spokesperson Ashley Trudo said. “We are committed to conducting a thorough and thoughtful process to ensure the best leadership for CRH.”

McMillan will be taking leave Nov. 22, but Trudo said he will remain available to assist interim CEO Hannah McRae through the rest of the year. McRae is the current CFO at the hospital.
