Carl Elbert Johnson, aged 96, passed away peacefully on Dec. 31, 2023 in Powell, Wyoming after a brief bout of pneumonia.

During his life, Carl was an electrician and farmer. 

Carl was a devoted family man, who loved his family above all else. He was a beloved husband to Midge and a devoted father to Richard Alan (Lana) of Billings, Montana; Randall Carl (Lynette) of Burlington; Larry Steven (Patty) of Auburn, California. His humility, love, tenderness and charitable nature made him a cherished and loyal friend to many.

Carl enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing games, and dancing. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Carl Elbert Johnson is survived by his wife, Midge, three sons, 14 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; and sisters Ruth Dohse and Laura DePriest, brother Bernard (Inez) Johnson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, three sisters and his beloved wife of 58 years, Patricia Maxine Brown and one great-grandson, Blake Derek Johnson.

A funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 114 Cedar Avenue in Burlington, Wyoming on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024 at 11 a.m. with a viewing prior to the funeral at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Burlington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian Fund.

Carl will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family and friends.
