Bruce Alan Floyd of Powell, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Aug. 24, 2024. Alan was born on Jan. 18, 1950 in Casper, Wyoming, to Leonard Wallace Floyd Sr. and Lorraine Belle Floyd. He attended grade schools in Casper, Douglas, then graduated from Cody High School.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was stationed at Miramar Naval Air Station working on F-4 and F-8 radar systems until his honorable discharge in 1975. While serving, he married Vickie Anderson and was blessed with son Christopher Alan and daughter Jennifer.

Alan worked for McCullough Oil Field Services as an engineer perforating and logging oil wells in Wyoming and Mexico. He also worked for Cody Gas and Cable. He earned two associate’s degrees in IT Tech and AutoCAD.

He met and spent 30 wonderful years with beloved wife Patricia. Alan loved woodwork, fishing and spoiling grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, grandson Andrew, great-grandson Lucas and his brother Kim (Sheri). A Memorial service will be held for Alan on Friday, Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home at 111 West Third St. in Powell, Wyoming. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local animal shelter. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be spread at a later date.
