Realtors, manufacturers, small business owners, and students across Northwest Wyoming are invited to attend the Big Horn Basin Cyber Shindig, a half-day mini conference focused on practical, real-world cybersecurity. The event will take place Friday, Feb. 20, from 9 a.m. to noon at Northwest College in Powell, with check-in, coffee, and pastries beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Hosted by CyberWyoming and the CyberWyoming Alliance, the Wyoming Small Business Development Center, Wyoming Manufacturing Works, the Wyoming Innovation Partnership, the Northwest Wyoming Board of REALTORS, and the Wyoming Department of Education CTE Division, the Shindig is designed to cut through technical jargon and deliver cybersecurity guidance that organizations can actually use.
“This event is about meeting people where they are,” said Laura Baker, executive director of CyberWyoming. “Cybersecurity doesn’t have to be overwhelming or expensive. The Cyber Shindig focuses on practical steps businesses and students can take right now to reduce risk and protect what matters.”
The Cyber Shindig welcomes professionals from real estate, manufacturing and small business, as well as college students and a special bonus track for high school students interested in participating in a Cyber Threat Defender tournament.
Registration is $10 per attendee with free attendance for students and teachers. Vendor tables are available for $100. Attendees are asked to register in advance by Feb. 16.
Table sponsors include IECA of Casper, Wyoming ISSA Chapter, and Arsenal Dev.
