Anna Maria Kawano, passed away on Dec. 20, 2023, at the age of 44 in Billings, Montana.

She was born on May 8, 1979, in Kaycee, Wyoming. Anna Maria leaves behind a loving family and numerous friends who will cherish her memory. She is survived by her husband Douglas and their children Sakura, Makoto, Kohana, Yuriana and Benjiro, and step children Charles and Kari Kawano. Anna Maria was a source of strength and inspiration to her family, and their love for her will endure forever. Charles Rousseau, as well as her siblings Robert (Tuyen) Rousseau, Gabriel Rousseau and Anthony (Ying) Rousseau, mourn the loss of their beloved sister. Gary (Jolyn) Kawano and their children, and Lenny Kawano also grieve the loss of their sister-in-law. She was preceded in death by her mother Phyllis Rousseau.

Anna Maria cherished her faith deeply and found solace at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. Her devotion to God was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was always eager to lend a helping hand at church events and actively participated in various religious ceremonies.

During her spare time, Anna Maria enjoyed indulging in hobbies that kept her spirit alive. Whether it was reading favorite passages from the Bible or attending church gatherings with fellow devotees, she found joy and comfort in nurturing her soul alongside like-minded individuals.

The community will gather together to pay their respects to Anna Maria at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church on Dec. 28, 2023. A rosary will be recited from 6-7 p.m., followed by a Mass on Dec. 29, 2023, starting at 10 a.m.
