110th PHS class reunion coming up on June 27-28

Posted

The first graduating class of Powell High School was entered into the books in 1915 in the small farming community of Powell born on the Shoshone Reclamation Project in 1909.

That’s 110 years ago.

This year’s June 27-28, 2025, all-class reunion carries on a PHS tradition that is 110 years old — a string of consecutive all-class reunions that is topped by only one other community in the country.

“It’s rather fun attending annually the reunions and renewing old friendships of those fellow PHS graduates we grew up with whether in our own class or those  around us,” said Gerry Wilkins of Billings, a member of the PHS alumni association steering committee. “Also, seeing how our community has changed and grown over the years.”

Wilkins said it’s a challenge each year to keep the reunion spirit going, particularly in the era of the internet.

“Local PHS graduates need to come out and support the annual reunion and renew old friendships with the people they grew up with,” he appealed. “We reach out to all graduating classes who are planning their class reunions to let us know of your planned activities so we can help share your information and perhaps help with the questions you may have.”

Wilkins can be contacted at grw@prodigy.net.
