The Powell High School girls’ swim and dive team met up one last time to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2023 season, holding an end of season banquet on Wednesday, March 20.
Coach Bob Smartt recognized an undefeated regular season for the team, the third season in a row the team has gone unbeaten in the regular season.
That included a 6-0 meet record, 2-0 dual record and a 2-0 triangular record.
Powell won the conference title for a third straight year by 45 points, while also finishing third at state for the fourth year in a row.
He acknowledged a strong senior class that scored 150 of the team’s 250 individual points at conference, while also scoring 78 of the team’s individual points at state.
The seniors had five championship finalists, while another two were in the consolation finals.
“A truly remarkable senior class that will be greatly missed,” Smartt said.
He said with the 10 graduating seniors the program will be in need of new swimmers and divers moving into next year.
