The Powell High School volleyball team defeated Lander Valley on Saturday, improving to 17-1 overall this season and 3-0 in the 3A Northwest Conference following a 23-25, 25-19, 25-13, 25-15 victory.
As a team, the Panthers served 88 percent, and aided their cause with seven service aces. Junior Breanna Donarski and senior Jenni Ebersberger shared the team lead with three each.
Sophomore Kalina Smith again led her team in kills with 28 and added 16 digs. Ebersberger posted a team-leading 31 digs and Kelsey Marchant added 19. Megan Wagner paced the Panthers with five block assists.
PHS’s season continues this weekend when the Panthers host conference duals at noon Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday. The team then finishes its regular season slate with matches at Cody and Lovell and at home against Lander before regionals begin at Jackson Hole on Halloween.
