Wyoming Veterans Commission seeks member from Big Horn Basin

Posted

As of July 1, the Wyoming Veterans Commission will have four vacancies — including for the commissioner position that serves the Big Horn Basin. The commissioner will be selected from within the Fifth Judicial District, which includes Park, Big Horn, Hot Springs and Washakie counties.

The other openings on the commission are for seats representing the First, Fourth and Tribal districts.

The Wyoming Veterans Commission advises the governor and Wyoming Legislature on state and federal veteran benefits. The commission also oversees the Veterans Services Program, Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery, Military Records, Highly Rural Transportation Program, Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum and Wyoming National Guard Museum.

The commission meets quarterly or as needed to address issues relevant to all Wyoming veterans.

These vacant positions will remain open until filled. To apply, follow the guidelines outlined at governor.wyo.gov/state-government/boards-commissions or call the commission at 307-777-8152.

To learn more about the commission, visit vets.wyo.gov.
