Wayne John Meidinger passed away April 30, 2024 after a short illness. Wayne was born Aug. 10, 1943 in Eureka, South Dakota. Wayne has been a longtime resident of Powell, Wyoming where he taught high school business for over 30 years and had a very successful coaching career with girls' basketball. Wayne was a retired Air Force veteran and a member of many veterans clubs and affiliations. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, traveling to the Black Hills (his favorite place to be), along with anything that included being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Martha Meidinger, sisters Bernice Fischer, Elaine Serr, Marie Job, Florence Henningsen, and brother Mark Meidinger.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diane of Powell, Wyoming and son Lonnie (Candy) of Pine Haven, Wyoming; grandson Kaden, two granddaughters, Lauren and Brooklyn of Post Falls, Idaho; sisters Barb Jund (Jon) of Idaho and JoAnn Weber (Jack) of Arizona.

Burial services will be held at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 1 p.m. A celebration of Wayne's life will be held in Powell at a later date as this was his hometown.
