Ryan Vondra, who was jailed on a number of charges resulting from a fight in downtown Cody, was released on six months probation after agreeing to a plea deal on Sept. 8.
After the July incident, he was charged with use of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in both plant and liquid form as well as interference with a police officer.
Vondra’s charges for use of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance in liquid form were dismissed, a no contest plea was entered for possession in plant form. Vondra was found guilty of interference with a peace officer. The court found he had 30 days served and suspended the remaining 30 days of jail time in favor of unsupervised probation. Vondra was issued a total of $270 in fines and court costs.
Vondra claimed that the substance in his possession was a CBD product, and the affidavit noted that a vape pen on Vondra’s person was labeled “Kush Delta 8 Vape Pen.” Under the 2018 Farm Bill, Delta 8 products are not explicitly illegal, although they do produce a high and test positive as THC.
