UW launches eight fully online bachelor’s degree programs

Posted

Opportunities to earn fully online degrees from the University of Wyoming will increase significantly starting this fall.

UW online bachelor’s degrees are now available to first-time students immediately after high school graduation in accounting; criminal justice; human resources, with a concentration in management; management; marketing; organizational leadership; sociology; and wider access to the general studies degree. These programs also will continue to serve people aiming to earn their degrees after attendance at other institutions.

“In addition to continuing its strong campus-based undergraduate and graduate programs, UW has a long-standing record of expanding access to education, and the growing availability of online programs is a continuation of that effort,” says Matt Griswold, UW’s vice provost for online and continuing education. “We are excited and ready for new students to learn of these programs, enroll and graduate without requiring them to move or dramatically change their lives.”

Pausing life to earn a degree comes with trade-offs, but the results are clear. Education Pays 2023 notes that, compared to high school graduates, college graduates earn more in their careers, earn more in the same jobs and catch up by age 34 regarding income and sunk education costs, with remaining years benefiting those with degrees. Many other economic, health, family and retirement outcomes also favor college graduates.
