‘Unstoppable,’ Upstage Academy holds its fifth annual spring recital

Upstage Dance Academy recently held its fifth annual spring recital with the theme “unstoppable.”

“We were very excited to celebrate our fifth year together as a studio. We even recognized students who had been with us all five years at the end of the show by giving them a “5 year club” T-shirt which was really fun,” said Mariah Lang, who owns the studio along with her sister Katelyn Rickert. “We also had an emotional end to the recitals saying goodbye to our two PHS graduates, Anna Smith and Kinsley Braten.”

The academy held three shows, one on May 31 and two on June 1, all at Powell High School. These three recitals showcased 157 community dancers ages 3-18, and routines in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, lyrical and pointe dance.

“All the shows were a huge success, and we are so grateful to feel so loved by the community,” Lang said.

Upstage is enrolling students for summer dance and the 2024-25 school year. People can contact the academy on Facebook, Instagram, text/call 307-250-7779, or email UpStageDanceAcademy@gmail.com to enroll.
