Notice: Unauthorized memorials to be removed
The Bureau of Reclamation intends to remove unauthorized markers and memorials from Reclamation surface to comply with Code of Federal Regulations 43 CFR 423.28
You must not bury, deposit, or scatter human or animal remains, or place memorials, markers, vases, or plaques on Reclamation facilities, lands, or waterbodies. This section does not apply to the burial of parts of fish or wildlife taken in legal hunting, fishing, or trapping.
Reclamation will delay the removal process until October 15, 2022, to afford those individuals who have placed memorials an opportunity to contact Reclamation in order to retrieve them. Memorials of a permanent nature which are removed will be stored for a maximum of one year and may be claimed by calling Reclamation’s Wyoming Area Office in Mills at 307-261-5671.
