For the night, Green connected on 12 of his 15 shot attempts from the floor, including a 5-for-6 showing from behind the 3-point arc. The Detroit, Mich., freshman also proved true on all three of his free-throw attempts while accounting for Northwest College's best single-game scoring performance to date this season and the most points by a Trapper player since Nate Miller went off for 34 against Montana Tech in December 2006.

Green had plenty of company in the scoring column on Tuesday night. Five other Trappers also reached doubl figures as the team sent the Cabre Gym scoreboard soaring to levels not seen since the team posted 124 points against Warren Air Force Base to begin the 2007-2008 season.

Alfonzo Hubbard knocked down 21 points, improving on a scoring average that already sees him ranked among the NJCAA's leaders. Casper Hesseldal added 15 points, Chantz Ramos added 13 points and Mitch Ackelson and Demetrice Jacobs each finished with 11 points.

Jacobs also led the way with eight rebounds and six assists in the contest.

“Demetrice sees the floor so well,” said Ward. “He did a good job tonight of getting the ball to the open man and we did a good job of hitting shots.”

For the contest, the Trappers connected on 50 of their 88 shot attempts from the floor for 56.8 percent shooting.

The team was 6-for-16 from behind the arc and hit 17 of its 26 free throw attempts. As a team, Northwest College forced 34 turnovers and owned a 53-28 rebounding advantage while overpowering the visiting Rams.

Despite watching his team lead wire-to-wire in their first contest of 2010, Ward noted the Trappers have plenty of room for improvement.

“We'll have to get better before Friday,” Ward said, referring to Northwest's next game against Western Wyoming.

“There's a lot of stuff we need to work on. We put in a few new offensive sets for the second semester and just a lot of little stuff that we need to keep getting better at in order to get to where we want to be at the end of the year.”

The victory improves the Trappers to 11-3 overall this season. The team is now 1-0 in sub-region play.

“Getting that sub-region win is important because that's what the seeding is based off of at the end of the year,” said Ward.
