Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Tom Fryer, a native of Powell, will be featured as Grand Marshal of the Veterans Day Parade in Manhattan, Kansas, on Friday, Nov. 11.
Fryer, a resident of Manhattan, is a 1963 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, the fifth class in the history of the academy.
He flew 100 combat missions in the Vietnam War. He later served as Commandant of Air Force ROTC cadets at Kansas State University before retiring from his Air Force career.
