Teton Gravity Research: Magic Hour will premiere in Cody on Friday. The premiere of this year’s preeminent ski film, hosted by Sunlight Sports and the Cody High School Alpine Ski Team, is a fundraiser for the team, and all ticket sales will help provide travel and equipment funding for the 2022-23 season. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the historic Cody Theater in downtown, with the film starting at 7 p.m. There will be swag giveaways prior to the show.
The film documents some of the most iconic skiers and snowboarders around the world — from North American to New Zealand — as the team captures awe-inspiring cinematography, groundbreaking action, and mesmerizing landscapes on this global adventure. “Magic Hour isn’t a particular time of day so much as it is these magical moments that we all experience on any given day, playing in some of the wildest places on the planet,” said Todd Jones, co-director of the film and co-founder of TGR. “We captured some of the most amazing skiing and snowboarding action in some of the most beautiful places in the world this past year. And we can’t wait to share the magic with the world.”
The CHS Ski Team and Sunlight Sports will also host their annual Ski Swap on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Stock Activities Center. Gear can be dropped off between 4-6 p.m. Friday or 7-8:30 a.m. Saturday. Unsold gear can be picked up between 1-2 p.m. Saturday, and any items not sold or picked up will be donated.
