The U.S. Small Business Administration in partnership with the Wyoming SBDC Apex Accelerator, will be holding HUBZone trainings in Powell, Cody and Lovell in mid April.
The Powell meeting is noon-1 p.m. April 17 at the Powell Library.
HUBZones (Historically Underutilized Business Zones) are determined by either governor designations or census tracts and are a great avenue for small businesses to win government contracts to help their businesses grow. The training will help businesses in these areas take advantage of the SBA HUBZone program and assist them with federal contracting.
The U.S. government is the largest customer in the world. It buys all types of products and services — in both large and small quantities — and the government works to make sure small businesses get at least 23% of all federal contracting dollars.
Through the SBA’s HUBZone program, the government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses in historically underutilized business zones and gives preferential consideration to those businesses in full and open competition.
