After crashing into a canal two weeks ago on Lane 14, the driver walked to a home close by for help, according to the Park County Sheriff’s office.
A blue Dodge pickup truck had landed in the canal the evening of Oct. 16 after taking a 45 degree corner at 55-60 miles per hour, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday. When the vehicle left the roadway it hit a wooden power pole which it snapped in half. The vehicle then rolled 1 1/4 times and landed in the canal. The driver sustained injury and then walked to a house for help before being taken to the hospital for his injuries. Powell fire department members wore wetsuits and searched the canal to ensure that there was no passenger.
Further information on the driver of the vehicle and the incident is not being released by the sheriff’s office at this time.
