When office administrator Sara Prescott reported for work at Union Presbyterian Church Wednesday morning, the fire alarm inside the building was clanging.
She called the police department, and the Powell Volunteer Fire Department was summoned to the church.
Firemen shut off the alarm and did a walkthrough of the building. The temperature in the church was warm, but firemen did not find anything amiss.
