The short middle school swimming season has come and gone as the competition wrapped up in Riverton on March 12.

The girls placed third for the Cubs, as they were propelled by strong individual performances that included a pair of first place finishes.

Eighth grader Kaitlin Diver won the 200 free with a time of 2:19.95 and seventh grader Karee Cooley won the 50 fly with a time of 31.06.

Other top finishes for the girls included Cooley taking second in the 100 IM with a time of 1:11.82, Diver took second in the 50 fly with a time of 32.13 and seventh grader Kaylen Greenwald placed third in the 100 back with a time of 1:17.23.

On the boys’ side, the Cubs took fifth overall as a team. The meet was paced by Lander, Riverton and Cody who all finished within five points of each other.

Top finishers for the Powell boys included: eighth grader Trystan Preator, who took fourth in the 200 free with a time of 2:40.85; eighth grader Alex Watts, who placed fourth in the 50 back with a time of 44.96; eighth grader Korbyn Warren placed fifth in the 50 back with a time of 45.41; seventh grader Garrett Lennon placed fourth in diving with a 74.25 and fifth in the 100 IM with a time of 1:17.41; and eighth grader Levi Hawley placed fifth in diving with a score of 73.90.
