Dear editor:
In response to “When equality isn’t what it is dressed up to be” by Justine Larsen in the Powell Tribune, Tuesday April 4, 2023:
She walks alone in the gloom
New life slowly growing in her womb
No matter how rudely begun
Should a blameless young one
Bear the “medical care” solution?
Maybe heartbreakingly conceived
The most innocent can’t voice their plea
So other brave lives intermediate
Protecting the true minority
(Not the ones loudly grabbing for authority)
History speaks through its knowing keen
Flawed has courage always been
Castration? Mutilation? Crass wrong for wrong
Perpetuating the problem, not a fix for long
Instead of trying to stir up gender dissension
Fight for the heartbeat, kindly do
Give all human flesh a chance to grow in virtue
