Friends and neighbors:
As our darker months arrive, please, please turn on your headlights, especially at dawn and dusk. You may be able to see (a bit), but others may not be able to see YOU. If there are bright lights behind you, blinding oncoming drivers and blocking the sight of your dark car, it is SO easy to not see you there. I drive into the brighter horizon going both directions and I cannot count the times when I thought it was clear to pass (or pull out from a side road) and it was not.
(Fortunately, I’m cautious. Now, mostly, I don’t even try!)
Having headlights on will also silhouette the deer crossing the road much better. Or a pedestrian along the side of the road (such as along Lane 8/14th Street where people don’t always use the walking path).
Thank you, in advance!
