A Powell man was killed in a single car traffic accident Oct. 24 outside of Cody.
Mark Tate, 43, a passenger in a Ford Ranger, was killed while the driver also sustained injury.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred when the driver of the pickup, while driving toward Powell on U.S. Highway 14A, partially passed a tractor-trailer in the center turn lane.
The vehicle then drifted across the oncoming lanes towards the shoulder, then overcorrected into the eastbound lanes and proceeded to trip in the center of the road and roll off the highway into a fence before coming to rest on the wheels.
Tate was wearing a seatbelt according to highway patrol.
