The 13th annual Powell Aquatic Center Triathlon is set to kick off May 25, with athletes flocking from around the region to compete.

Competitors will start with a 500 yard swim at the PAC, swimming 20 lengths of the pool with lap counters being provided by the Powell Swim Club.

Athletes will then head out the north door and cycle up Homesteader Court and turn right onto Seventh Street, turning left onto Road 8 and then heading north.

They will then turn left onto Lane 8 before turning right on the Elk Basin Highway which will then lead to the turnaround point.

Returning back to the PAC will complete the biking portion, totaling approximately 15.5 miles.

Athletes will then begin a 5K run, starting at the same location and racing up Homesteader Court to begin.

They will turn left onto Seventh Street and race to the intersection of Seventh and Grand streets before turning around and returning to the PAC.

The event costs $35 per solo entry, and $65 for a team which can consist of up to three members.

An entry form can be found online on powellaquatics.com with entrants receiving a T-shirt to commemorate the event.

Registration for the triathlon closes this Sunday, May 19.
