MDU zone update


Pursuant to the Wyoming Administrative Procedure Act and the Wyoming Public Service Commission’s (Commission) Rules, the Commission hereby gives notice of the Application of Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. (MDU or the Company) for authority to update the currently established Wobbe Index for Heat Zone 4, as more fully described below:
1. MDU is a public utility subject to the Commission’s jurisdiction. Wyo. Stat. §§ 37-1-l0l(a)(vi)(D) and 37-2-112.
2. On May 9, 2024, MDU filed an Application requesting authority to update the currently established Wobbe Index from 1,372 to 1,309 based on the most recent 12-month weighted mean for Heat Zone 4. MDU attributes the change to a change in volume of the gas coming on the system from the WBI Energy’s transmission system. The currently effective Wobbe Index was established in 1987.
3. This is not a complete description of MDU’s Application. Interested persons may inspect the Application at the Commission’s office during regular business hours or online at: (enter Record No. 17576).
4. Anyone desiring to file a statement, intervention petition or request for a hearing in this matter must file with the Commission in writing on or before June 12, 2024.
