As anyone who has visited Powell Valley Healthcare since early October can probably attest, masks are now optional for visitors.
Spokesman Jim Cannon said on Oct. 5 masks became optional for staff, patients and visitors as long as the community transmission rate for Covid stays below the “high” mark. The ruling is based on CDC recommendations.
Cannon said staff who have opted not to complete the Covid vaccination are required to test weekly or wear a mask.
According to the CDC the current transmission rate in Park County is “low,” with 71.93 cases per 100,000 people. There were 21 cases of Covid in the county as of Nov. 2, according to the Wyoming Department of Health.
