Dear editor:
In both my adult and children’s sermons, I have preached about what our role is in responding when someone is being bullied (oppressed, marginalized, being treated unjustly). I tell the congregation that if we say or do nothing when we see someone being bullied or treated unfairly, we become part of the problem and not the solution.
So I am calling out Mr. Dan Laursen and Mr. Tim French for their recent behaviors pertaining to Mr. Dusty Spomer. It appears that your bruised egos (Greek word: εγώ) drove your decision to remove Mr. Spomer from a volunteer council that he has proven to those he is serving to be an important member of while also serving the best interests of the people of Wyoming faithfully. Neither of you were able to publicly state a viable reason for removing him from this volunteer council.
So for this reason, I am calling you out and asking you to please, in the future, represent the best interests of the people of Wyoming, because that is why you were elected to public office.
Donna Putney
