John Clayton Williams was born on the family farm in Powell on Feb. 25, 1935. As he was growing up the family was into ranching and farming. When he finally graduated from high school he went into the U.S. Army on Oct. 19, 1954 and was deployed to Korea where he served and was honorably discharged on Aug. 9, 1956.

When he returned home he dated the love of his life Linda whom he married on Oct. 12, 1957. They then continued running the family farm and ranch until the late 70s when they started a construction business along with several other businesses. He loved the outdoors where boating, fishing and hunting were his passions. One of his favorite things to do was go to Yellowstone and take the boat across the lake and camp in the arms. For those of you who knew him well he always said to bury him with his lull machine because then he would have a machine to work with in heaven. He was always a hard working man who was compassionate to all those around him.

John was preceded in death by his dad, Rodger Williams; mom, Minnie; and wife, Linda. He is survived by his son, John R. Williams and his wife Angela; granddaughter, Victoria; grandsons, Benjamin and Stephen; brother, Stephen Williams and wife, Sandra; and many more nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service with full military honors at Washington Park. The date and time have not been determined at this time.
