The Homesteader Museum is harkening back to the old days.
Since October the museum has been hosting monthly gatherings on the second Sunday of each month from noon-4 p.m. that offer a space to work on arts and crafts and take part in community conversations, in addition to free admittance to the museum.
Museum director Brandi Wright said it will provide members in the community an option for something to do after church.
“We produced the idea to fill the community need of something to do on Sundays as well as thinking back to community clubs and clubhouses and rekindling the idea of community gatherings,” said museum collections manager Michela Morrissey.
The event continues this Sunday and then skips a month, as the museum will be closed in January for cleaning.
