Tree limbs were whipped into power lines north of Powell Tuesday afternoon, cutting electrical service to 91 Garland Light & Power customers.
“Winds were really howling in that wind and rain storm, and tree limbs got into the lines,” said Molly Lynn, GL&P manager. “It was not system-wide.”
The outage lasted about an hour between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. The affected 91 who lost power are a small fraction of GL&P’s customer base of 2,400.
“We can trim the trees, and we do as much as we can,” Lynn added.
