Local community health center officials are waiting anxiously for a decision from the State Loan & Investment Board on a $3.8 million grant application to remodel the former Fitch Building in Powell.
One Health, formerly Heritage Health Center, acquired the Fitch Building in March to dramatically expand its community health center operations at the 1201 Seventh Street location. The health center presently works out of three downtown Powell locations on North Bent Street that comprise 3,300 square feet.
The Fitch Building offers about 11,000 square feet of usable space.
One Health recently selected Plan One Architects of Cody to do the design planning for the remodeling project. The $3.8 million SLIB request would amount to about 55% of the acquisition cost of the building and the remodel/renovation costs.
