Eighty-five participants ran and walked in the first Jim Beavers Memorial Graveyard Gallop Saturday, Nov. 5 in and around Crown Hill Cemetery.
The event was sponsored by Homesteader Museum. Beavers was a longtime member of the board of Homesteader Museum Association, Inc.
In the overall 10K event, John Housel of Cody was the men’s winner, and Molly Moore of West Yellowstone, Montana, was the female winner. Powell participants Audrey Johnson and Brad Lauk were the female and male overall winners in the 5K event.
And all alone crossing the finish line in the 1-mile walk/run was Ben Burns of Powell, age 7. He finished in a time of 13:01.21.
“Not that the mile had winners, but Ben was excited about being the first one across the finish line,” said Brandi Wright, executive director of the museum.
