Gas decrease

PUBLIC NOTICE
The Wyoming Public Service Commission (Commission) approved the Application of Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. (MDU) to pass on a wholesale commodity cost decrease of $0.407 per dekatherm (Dth) to its residential, firm general, and small and large interruptible service customers, and a decrease of $0.386 per Dth for optional seasonal customers, effective for usage on and after June 1, 2023. The proposed change is due to a decrease in the wholesale commodity price of natural gas and a decrease in transportation capacity and pipeline-related costs.
MDU’s proposal results in a decrease of $0.61 or -2.23%, before taxes, for a typical residential customer using 1.5 Dth during June 2023. Actual bills will vary with usage.
Commission Rule Chapter 3, Section 26, allows a utility to pass on, to its customers, known or projected commodity cost increases or decreases, on a dollar-for-dollar basis, subject to public notice, opportunity for hearing and refund.
MDU’s Application is available at the Commission or online at: https://dms.wyo.gov/external/publicusers.aspx (Enter Record No. 17301).
Anyone desiring to file a statement, intervention petition, protest, or request for hearing must file with the Commission in writing, on or before July 7, 2023. A proposed intervention or request for hearing shall set forth the grounds, the position and interest of the petitioner in this proceeding.
If you wish to participate in this matter and you require reasonable accommodation for a disability, contact the Commission at (307) 777-7427, or 2515 Warren Avenue, Suite 300, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82002. Communications-impaired persons may contact the Commission by accessing Wyoming Relay at 711. Please mention Docket No. 30013-397-GP-23 in your communications.
