A handful of special district races are getting smaller as candidates drop out of the race. Last week three more departed following Kelly Spiering, who had earlier dropped out of the Powell Fire District No. 1 Director position.
Also, Gerri Ackley has dropped out of the race for Powell Hospital District Board, Richard Jones from the NWC Board subdistrict B and Ted Smith for Cody Conservation District Board.
These candidates will not appear on the general election ballot, as the elections office has not yet printed ballots and was able to remove these names. Staff will be sending the ballots to the printer in the next couple of days. If any candidates drop out after that point, they’ll remain on the ballot and the elections office will have to notify voters of the additional withdrawals (by posting signs at polling places, etc.).
