Debra Carroll, who has worked in the Park County Clerk of Court’s office for 18 years, won the primary election runoff Tuesday over two competitors.
Carroll is first deputy under retiring court clerk Patra Lindenthal. With her primary win Tuesday, Carroll is poised to succeed Lindenthal.
In the three-way primary, Carroll received 3,774 votes to edge Logan Christie with 2,879 and Robin “Yager” Martin with 2,750.
“I’m very pleased and very excited,” Carroll said. “Everybody was just awesome throughout. I want to thank everyone for placing their trust in me for being the next elected clerk.”
“I want to keep the office as friendly as we’ve had it,” she said.
