GREYBULL — The potable water handpump at Battle Park Trailhead and camping area is broken and unusable, according to a release from the Bighorn National Forest, and repairs have been ordered. Potable water will not be available at the site until repairs are complete.
The release adds that the spring located at the site is not tested for water quality and human consumption. Use at your own risk. It is recommended to filter, decontaminate or boil water from the spring prior to drinking. Nearby campgrounds in the vicinity are open and water can be used from these locations. These campgrounds include Deer Park, Island Park, Sitting Bull, Boulder Park and West Tensleep Trailhead. The National Forest will provide additional information as it becomes available.
