A non-partisan event to celebrate Americans’ independence and freedom will be held at Veterans Memorial Park in Cody from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday.
The Freedom Celebration, presented by the Park County Republican Party, will feature a presentation of colors led by Commander Bobby Warner of American Legion Post 32; a benediction by pastor Mike Walsh; a wreath ceremony, and a flying salute by two T-34 airplanes, flown by Bo Ewald and Drew Daniels.
According to a press release, the event will be attended by Mayor Matt Hall, Gov. Mark Gordon, U.S. Sen. John Barrasso, U.S. Sen. Cynthia Lummis, Secretary of State Ed Buchanan, State Treasurer Curt Meire, State Auditor Kristi Racines and Superintendent of Public Instruction Brian Schroeder.
Marti Halverson will attend the event as a guest speaker. Halverson served in the Wyoming House of Representatives for six years and represented Wyoming on the Republican National Committee for eight years. She is the current president of Wyoming Right to Life.
