Dear Editor:
The slogan of Scouting, Boy Scouts of America, is “Do a Good Turn Daily.” The past two weekends, Scouts and Scouting families canvassed Powell with just that mission in mind.
With the support of the community, they were able to collect more than 1,000 pounds of food and received in excess of $700 in cash donations in order to support local families who may need some help putting food on the table this winter.
On behalf of Troop and Pack 26, sponsored by the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary, we want to thank everyone who donated. We also want to thank Blair’s Market and The Market at Powell for allowing us to set up collection tables in this endeavor. If anyone would still like to do their own good turn, please reach out to Loaves and Fishes, American Legion Auxiliary, or your local church for info on how to donate.
